Before you start

A B2 test on verbs that are always followed by a specific preposition, such as pensar en, soñar con, depender de or acordarse de. These prepositions rarely match English, so they have to be learned together with the verb.

Frequent doubts

Is it “pensar en” or “pensar de”?

Pensar en is to think about someone or something: Pienso en ti. Pensar de asks for an opinion: ¿Qué piensas de la película?

Why “soñar con” and not “soñar de”?

In Spanish you dream “with” something: Anoche soñé contigo. Soñar de is not correct.

Is it “acordarse de” or “recordar”?

Both mean to remember, but acordarse is reflexive and takes de: Me acuerdo de ti. Recordar takes neither: Te recuerdo.
