Emphatic structures with “ser” in Spanish

By: Pilar González Manjavacas Reading: 1 min + PDF exercise Published: 2 Apr 2019

The theory

In the following exercise, we are going to practice a structure that allows us to highlight, emphasize, or correct information given previously.

For example, if we start with a sentence:

  • “You never eat pasta” (Pasta is what we want to correct)
  • “WHAT I never eat IS rice, not pasta” or “IT IS rice WHAT I never eat, not pasta” (corrected sentences)
