Frequent doubts

When do I use the pretérito perfecto and when the indefinido?

In Spain, the perfecto is used for a period that has not finished or is linked to the present (Este año he estudiado menos) and the indefinido for finished periods (El año pasado estudié más).

What is the difference between “insistía” and “insistió”?

The imperfecto describes a repeated or ongoing action in the background; the indefinido presents it as a completed fact: Ella insistió mucho y al final fuimos.

Why “Estaba leyendo y no te oía”?

Both verbs describe the situation at that moment, so they go in imperfecto. The event that interrupts it goes in indefinido or perfecto: ¿Qué dijiste? Estaba leyendo y no te oía.

Can I retake the test?

Yes, as many times as you want, with no account and no email. We recommend reviewing the related materials and coming back a few days later.
