Frequent doubts

Why do Spanish speakers say tengo 25 años?

Because age is expressed with tener (to have), not with ser or estar: Tengo 25 años. Saying soy 25 años is a typical beginner's mistake.

Tú or usted when asking for personal information?

Tú with people of your age and in informal settings (¿Cómo te llamas?); usted in formal situations, for example at a hotel desk or in an office (¿Cómo se llama?).

Do nationalities take a capital letter in Spanish?

No. Nationalities and languages are written in lower case: soy alemán, hablo inglés. Only the names of countries take a capital letter: Alemania.
