When we opened Tilde Madrid, our Spanish school, six years ago, we were determined to create a different school, a center specializing in Spanish teaching focused exclusively on adults, a space where our students could not only learn the Spanish language, but also know the country’s culture, discover the corners of the city, socialize in our living room and, in short, take part in our Spanish family. After this still brief and intense journey we keep being passionate about everything we do, and Tilde, our Spanish school in Madrid, has become a small Spanish family whose members, our students, come back to visit us every year.

The school is located in the center of Madrid, two minutes’ walk from Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de San Ana. Anyone who has visited Madrid knows the architecture of the historical center, with its beautiful buildings and balconies. We chose a renovated old palace from the 19th century to locate our small school. Without being pretentious, Tilde has managed to create a quiet and cozy atmosphere that invites to study, learn and talk.

We want our students to feel at home. That is why in our Spanish School in Madrid we have devoted one of our rooms to a living room where you can relax over a coffee, do your homework, use the internet or make use of our library. The school also has a number of bright and spacious classrooms looking out over an attractive and quiet courtyard.

They are passionate about teaching and our students can notice that.  Our teachers are sensitive to the features of every single student, and the way he or she learns, and they give the student the main role, so they can unleash their creativity.

Our teaching method is communicative and dynamic, a combination of grammar lessons, conversation lessons, and cultural activities. The star activity in our school is our successful Café y Prensa (Coffee and Press), which, as one of our students put it, is “the most civilized way of starting the day”. Every morning students practice their Spanish while discussing current affairs and informal topics over a cup of coffee or tea.
