To start this teaching activity on Spanish vocabulary on tourism, the class is divided into two groups, A and B, which are given the corresponding sheet (ficha). Each group has a set of different words that they other group do not know. Each group has to guess the words of the other group by their explanations.
In turns, they try to make the others guess the word, without naming it.
Recommendation: It is better to let the students write the word when they think they have guessed it, instead of saying it aloud. The teacher will confirm whether it is correct or not. This way, all of them will have time to think.
This activity can be done at the end, to review Spanish vocabulary on tourism, or at the beginning, at slightly higher levels, to introduce the topic.
We hope you have enjoyed this teaching activity to learn new Spanish vocabulary on tourism. We use it regularly in our Spanish courses in Madrid, and our students love it. All the words included in the exercise are handy and widely used by people living in or visiting Spain. Try this teaching activity and let us know how it went!
